5/15/2008: Trading Four Wheels in for TWO.
The price of a fill-up has gone up again. Triple-A says the average price of a gallon of regular is now more than $3.77. Prices are expected to continue their upward march at least until Memorial Day weekend. With that news, its not surprising, scooter and bicycle sales are up.

5/14/2008: Bye Bye Land-line
Land-line phones are going the way of the 8 track tape as more and more consumers rely on their cell phones. A new study released today finds nearly one out of every six homes in the USA, 15.8%, had only wireless phones in the second half of 2007. That's up from 6.1% during the same period in 2004.

When Arnim Ramdass hit the lottery ($600,000) and tried to hide it from his wife, Donna Campbell, she sued for a cut of the cash. The case goes to court on Thursday.

George McGovern thinks so. Saying it's virtually impossible for the former first lady to win the nomination, the former Democratic Presidential Nominee and Senator says he's backing Barack Obama for the nomination. McGovern adds that he remains close friends with the Clintons.

The City Commission of North Lauderdale has approved a resolution splitting the Sunshine State into North Florida and South Florida. City commissioners complain they don't have confidence in state leaders when it comes to collecting and spending the citizens' tax money. Governor Charlie Crist just laughed when asked about the call to split Florida in two

Jason Taylor is kicking it on "Dancing with the Stars" and by all reports he's having a blast in L.A. hanging with Denzel Washington and other Hollywood Royalty. Rumors are flying that with the Dolphins going through transition with new management and coach, Taylor might be tempted to make his own transition from athlete to Hollywood Action Hero.

5/5/2008: Shopping "Crime Rate" Lifting?
Chances are the recent murders at Boca Town Center have been a topic of discussion around many watercoolers in South Florida. Add to that, news today of a shooting in the Aventura Mall Parking Garage. While police term the crime the result of a "domestic dispute" and an "isolated incident" it still rattles nerves.

5/2/2008: A Tax Holiday on Gas!!!!!
There's a proposal out there to suspend federal gas taxes for three months during the peak summer driving season in order to give us all a little relief at the pump. Hillary Clinton and John McCain are in favor of the plan that would drop gas prices by about 18 cents a gallon. Barack Obama is against the idea, saying a price drop would just entice Americans to guzzle more gas.
