The 411.Pain Great Grove Bed Race
Vroom Vroom . . . errr "tie your shoelaces"! As bed racing returns to Coconut Grove! The 411.PAIN Great Grove Bed Race is Sunday, September 5th of Labor Day weekend ! Join the hilarity and community in raising funds for Alonzo Mourning Charities and the University of Miami Sleep Program. Make sure you register here.
Sunday events start with the Family Pajama Party, featuring music, obstacles course, pajama prizes and storytelling at 11:00 a.m. on Virginia St.. The Pit Row Parade of decorated beds begins at 1 p.m. followed by a 2 p.m. green flag for the start of the 1/8th-mile Bed Race in the heart of Coconut Grove Village.
On site to start the race is esteemed panel of judges starting with Grand Marshall Indy500 racer Tony Kanaan, Alonzo Mourning, Mayor Regalado, County Commissioner Carlos Gimenez, City Commissioner Marc Sarnoff, Representative Carlos Lopez-Cantera, Homestead Miami Speedway President Matt Becherer, local Miamian and actor Steven Bauer, known for Que Pasa USA and Scarface as well as a MC for the day, comedian Johnny Trabs.
